Because sometimes, when I lay out my books and lesson plans and worksheets for our morning of Pre-K, my daughter has a better idea.
Sometimes, she looks me in the eye and says, "Mommy, I'm ready to learn today!"
"Great sweetie," I reply, glancing at the materials I've prepared. "Did you have something specific in mind?"
"I want to learn how to draw a frog," she tells me without hesitation.
Telling time will have to wait then. Today, we will learn how to draw a frog.
And that smile she gave me when she figured out she could do it?
That was my Teacher of the Year award.
Love it!
